Ennis set to rumble with Avanesyan in first career title defense in hometown of Philadelphia.

( July-13, 2024)— Newly inked Matchroom promotions signee Jaron “Boots” Ennis (31-0, 28ko), the IBF welterweight World Champion will make his Matchroom Boxing debut Saturday, July-13, in his hometown of Philadelphia, taking on former world title challenger David Avanesyan (30-4-1, 18ko), in a scheduled [12-Round] main-event for the IBF World title, at the Wells Fargo Center, in Philadelphia, PA.

Ennis, 27, is undoubtedly one of the most premier young talents in the sport of boxing today. He possess a showmen like fight swagger, while still displaying a fan friendly fight arsenal, with both a high level of offensive and defensive I.Q & skills inside of the ring.

However, the veteran David Avanesyan looks to upset the homecoming of Ennis in pursuit for a world championship. Avanesyan, has been under the big lights against top world level opposition such as current and former champions Terence Crawford, Shane Mosley, Lamont Peterson just to name a few.
