Roach Jr drops McCrory three times to defend title infront of hometown.

Washington D.C, (June-29, 2024)— WBA jr.lightweight world champion Lamont Roach jr (24-1, 9ko), completed his first successful title defense, defeating Fearagal McCrory (16-1, 8ko), by tko in the [8th round].

From the opening fighter introductions the energy from the thousands in attendance at the Entertainment & Sports Arena let you know that it would be a passionate night of boxing, with both fighters respective fans shouting in so much support to the point where you wouldn’t know who was fighting in the enemy’s territory.

However, once the bell rang it would become overtly evident just as to whom was the enemy. Roach Jr, would begin to unleash a vicious offensive attack on the challenger McCrory, one that would force him to have to fight off several referees eight-counts, after being forced to the canvas three times in the fight, twice coming in [round 4] after the champion landed devastating body shots that dropped the challenger.

Ultimately McCrory’s corner decided they had seen enough damage and called a halt to the fight in [round 8].
