Nuggets Illustrate Tale of Two Halfs in Win over Wizards.

Wednesday - night the Denver Nuggets defeated the Washington Wizards by a score of 118 - 104, in the nation’s capital. Reigning NBA-MVP Nikola Jokić, leading all scorers with 31-points, 12 rebounds & 7ast.

To start the game a short handed Wizards team looked to take it to the Nuggets, not backing down from the challenge of battling without two of the teams top three scorers in Bradley Beal (knee) and Kyle Kuzma (ankle). Washington seemed to find a early offensive rhythm, riding the the hot hand in Wizards forward Kristaps Porzingis, who set the tone offensively with a big scoring first half. Washington went into halftime with a two point 57-55 lead over Denver.

The start of the third quarter was a bit of a different story. Coming out of halftime Denver seemed to seamlessly flip the switch, getting it going from behind the arc.

“ The start of the third wasn’t where it should’ve been” words of Coach Wes Unseld jr “They got it going, and of course the turnovers really put us behind the eight ball”.

Denver Nuggets forward Michael Porter Jr, who finished the game with 21 points went 6-9 from the 3-pt arc, while point guard Jamal Murray contributed 17 points & 8 assists, hitting 3-6 from deep helping provide the separation needed to pull away from the Wizards in the second half.
