— In pursuit to further cement her already prestigious legacy undefeated three-division World Champion & two-division undisputed champion Claressa Shields (14-0, 2ko), looks to tackle her forth-weight division, moving up to heavyweight to challenge reigning World Champion Vanessa Lepage-Joanisse (7-1, 2ko), of Quebec, Canada, for the WBC heavyweight & (vacant) WBO Light heavyweight world titles, July-27, 2024, at Little Caesars Arena, in Detroit, Michigan.
Vanessa Lepage-Joanisse, 29, won the (vacant) WBC heavyweight title in March of this year, defeating Abril Vidal, by a split-decision victory, she looks to make her first title defense when she takes on Shields. Lepage-Joanisse had previously challenged for the WBC title in 2017, challenging former champion Alejandra Jimenez, in the bout Lepage-Joanisse would suffer her sole-career defeat.
Shields, 29, Aka “G.W.O.A.T” (Greatest Woman of All Times), made history by becoming the only female fighter in history to become undisputed champion in two-divisions. The former 2X-Olympic Gold medalist attempts to become the first female fighter to move from the middleweight to heavyweight in hopes of capturing another world title.
