On Friday, October 2, 2026, The Project Series delivered by Dazn, Matchroom Boxing & Boxlab brought an action-packed night of boxing to the Caribe Royale in Orlando, Florida. The card featured competitive matchups and several undefeated fighters putting their “0” on the line, showcasing a group of young fighters looking to make a name for themselves in the sport.
In the main event, former Olympic medalist Omari “Banger” Jones headlined for the first time in his career in his hometown of Orlando, taking on 31-fight veteran Alan Sanchez, of Mexico.
From the opening bell, Jones established himself as the superior fighter, displaying patience and working effectively behind his jab. After landing several clean shots that visibly affected Sanchez, Jones began finding openings and capitalizing. He eventually unleashed a barrage of punches that forced the referee to stop the contest, giving Jones his eighth professional victory and keeping his undefeated record intact at 8-0, with five knockouts.
The co-main event featured 22-year-old bantamweight knockout artist Jonathan Orozco, of Nicaragua, who entered the night with a perfect 17-0 record, including 17 knockouts, against Yusniel Abrahante, of Cuba, who proved to be a game and determined adversary.
Abrahante came out aggressively, pressuring Orozco and frustrating him with multi-punch combinations while using his speed, angles, and movement. The fight appeared to be turning against Orozco until the sixth round, when he landed a powerful body shot that visibly hurt Abrahante. Orozco immediately applied relentless pressure, eventually forcing the referee to wave off the fight.
With the stoppage, Orozco improved to 18-0 and kept his perfect knockout streak intact, earning his 18th knockout.
The televised portion of the card featured several competitive matchups, one of which was a battle between two heavy-handed punchers. Twenty-three-year-old Donte Layne, of Long Island, New York, earned an eight-round unanimous decision over Keithland King, of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, improving his record to 9-0, 7 KOs. King entered the bout with an 11-2 record, including 11 knockouts.
One of the night’s most entertaining fights came in the featherweight division, where two undefeated fighters, Fidencio Hernandez (4-0, 3 KOs), of Oxnard, California, and Diego Nieves (4-0, 4 KOs), of Puerto Rico, squared off.
