Foster to defend WBC Super featherweight title vs Nova.

(February-16, 2024)— Reigning WBC Super Featherweight Champion O’Shaquie Foster (21-2, 12 ko), will look to defend his title against Abraham Nova (23-1, 16ko) of Puerto Rico, in a scheduled [12-round] Main-Event, at the Madison Square Garden Theater, in New York, New York, promoted by TopRank.

Foster, 30-yr-old, won the WBC title In early Feburary-2023, outclassing then undefeated former two-division world champion Rey Vargas (36-1, 22ko), scoring a unanimous decision victory at the Alamodome, in San Antonio, Texas.

Later on that same year Foster, would make his first title defense, facing a game opponent in Eduardo Hernandez (34-1, 31ko), in a battle where Foster, would have to bite down and show his tenacious heart, and determination defeating Hernandez by TKO stoppage in [round-12].

Since then Foster, has inked a multi-fight promotional deal with TopRank, in seek of big fight opportunities. Shortly after a fight was announced between the champion Foster, and Super-featherweight contender Abraham Nova (23-1,16ko).

For Nova, this would be his first attempt at a world title, an opportunity that he was long been waiting for. In June of 2022, Nova, suffered his first-career loss, begin KO’d in the [5th round], by former featherweight world champion Robeisy Ramirez(13-2,8ko).

Since then, the 30-yr old, Puerto Rican has rebounded with victories, over Adam Lopez (17-5,6ko) and stopping Jonathan Romero (35-2,19ko) in the [3rd round], improving his KO ratio to 69%, while reemerging his campaign as a 130-pound title contender.
