Muratalla vs Cruz Headlines Matchroom’s January 24 Card at Fontainebleau Las Vegas

On January 24, 2025, IBF Interim Lightweight World Champion Raymond Muratalla (23–0, 17 KOs) is set to defend his title against former Olympic gold medalist Andy Cruz (6–0, 3 KOs) in a scheduled 12-round world title bout at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas.

This matchup is a classic example of styles make fights. Muratalla, 29, has built his reputation as a devastating, heavy-handed puncher, with 17 of his 23 professional victories coming by way of knockout. While his power remains a constant threat, the champion has shown a more measured and controlled approach in recent outings, recording just one stoppage in his last four fights.

Standing across the ring will be Cruz, a 30-year-old Cuban native who has wasted little time making his presence felt in the professional ranks. Known primarily for his slick footwork, and evasive ring generalship, Cruz has recently shown a growing willingness to stand his ground in the center ring, operating as more of a pocket fighter during his transition from the amateurs. Now facing the biggest test of his career, Cruz looks to make history by capturing a world title in just his seventh professional bout.

The co-main event features an anticipated light heavyweight clash as world contenders Khalil Coe (10–1, 8 KOs) and Jesse Hart (31–3, 25 KOs) square off in a 10-round showdown for the USWBC Light-Heavyweight Title.

Former WBA interim Super welterweight Champion Israil Madrimov (10-2-1, 7KOs) looks to jump back into the win column when he takes on once-beaten Luis David Salazar (20-1, 7KOs) in a 10-round bout.

Also one of boxing’s prominent young prospects Omari Jones (4–0, 4 KOs), a 2024 Olympic medalist, will face undefeated Jerome Baxter (7–0, 3 KOs) in his first scheduled 8-round bout.

This card is promoted by Matchroom Boxing and will be broadcast live on DAZN.
